There
are many excellent Internet sites devoted to the study and research of
Mesopotamian civilization. Perhaps the best starting point is ABZU:
Regional Index - Mesopotamia, at the Oriental Institute, University of
Chicago. Here you will find an index of resources for the study of ancient
Mesopotamia, including the area under the control of the modern state of
Iraq and parts of Iran, Syria and Turkey. The Oriental Institute also
houses a Mesopotamian
Gallery as part of its Virtual Museum. John Heise has created an
excellent page on the Akkadian
Language which should not be missed. At
Indiana you will find a page dedicated to Medicine
in Ancient Mesopotamia. See also Women
in Ancient Mesopotamia, Architectural
Marvels of Ancient Mesopotamia, and Ancient
Tablets, Ancient Graves: Accessing Women's Lives in Mesopotamia.
